Stephen Robins
Partner
Stephen was admitted as a solicitor in 1978 and is a Partner of the firm of Gabbitas Robins.
The broad base of his practice is commercial and residential property, civil litigation and private client work. He has acted as a lead solicitor in respect of high-profile cases one being British Midland Tool Limited v Midland International Tooling Limited (2003) which is a landmark English company law case concerning directors breach of fiduciary duty and conspiracy. This case established a director breaches their duty to act so as to promote the company success by failing to disclose their own or their co-directors plans to compete. This decision is often cited in relation to duties of loyalty and the no conflict rules, the principles of which are now codified in Section 172 of the Companies Act 2006. In the case of Baylis Farms Limited v R B Dymott Builders Limited (2011) Stephen was also a lead solicitor in a construction case which concerned a blocked drain following completion of drainage works that were not fit for purpose.
Stephen also has considerable experience in property and probate disputes.
John Gabbitas
Partner
John graduated from Birmingham University in law and was admitted as a solicitor in 1967 and is now Senior Partner of the firm.
The broad base of his practice is commercial property and private client work including the area of wills, trusts and residential conveyancing. A substantial part of his commercial property experience has been in the area of waste disposal, landfill and waste management generally.
Marsha Richardson, LLB Hons
Senior Solicitor
Marsha joined the firm after practising in Windsor and having previously worked at a magic circle firm in the City of London.
She qualified in 2003 and specialises in Wills, Estate Planning and Inheritance Tax, Estate Administration, Trusts, and Lasting Powers of Attorney.
With over 21 years’ experience in private client work, Marsha is a diligent and empathetic solicitor, who advises clients with sensitivity and care during what are often challenging times.
She is known for delivering clear, accurate, and practical advice with a meticulous and compassionate approach to client matters.
Rob Medley
Paralegal
Rob joined the firm in May 2008.
Rob provides vital support to Partner Stephen Robins across a diverse range of legal disciplines. Rob has considerable experience in relation to contentious matters and often instructs Counsel. His versatility also extends to assisting in the probate and commercial property department. Rob is known for his attention to detail.
Sophie Stratford
Paralegal
Sophie completed her Law degree at Buckinghamshire New University in 2014, before going on to achieve a Master’s in Law in 2016, graduating with a distinction.
She joined Gabbitas Robins in 2017 as a legal assistant in the conveyancing department, working closely with Stephen Robins. Since then, Sophie has developed her experience in all aspects of residential conveyancing. She regularly handles freehold and leasehold sales and purchases, remortgages, and transfers of equity, and is experienced in dealing with both registered and unregistered titles.
Sophie is known for her thorough, organised approach and her commitment to providing a smooth and supportive experience for clients. She will guide you through your conveyancing transaction from start to finish, ensuring you feel informed and reassured at every stage.

Carol is a trainee solicitor presently working in the probate department with Marsha Richardson.
